J004859 (IJA) EM/NCO'S FIELD TUBE PACK. A light olive drab colored canvas tube pack, most often worn slung over one shoulder. 74 1/2" in overall length, it arches outwards from both of its 2 5/8" ends to a 10 1/2" width for 39 7/8" of its length. Olive drab colored cloth tie tapes are sewn near either end of this wider section, allowing its open ends to be tied closed. Longer and wider tie tapes are sewn to its mid-section, which would have been bound around a piece of field gear, most likely the soldier’s rice cooker. A seam is sewn across the pack 42 1/4" from one end, 32 1/4" from the other, dividing its interior into two compartments. The interior is fully lined in white colored cloth, and features issue ink stamps. Superb untouched condition.
