J002359 (IJA) INFANTRY "TYPE 30" BAYONET. Kokura Arrow ""M"" 84th Series (i.e., hiragana ""i"" and ""a"") bayonet, with a blued, flat sided, contoured bird's head pommel and button release. Serial numbers (95324). ""SAKA"" inspection mark. The straight, natural wooden grips are fixed with two rivets. The late war, blued, straight, contoured double cross guard has a flat tip to one end and a circular muzzle guide to the other. The 15 1/2" fullered, blued blade is in excellent condition with about 90% original bluing and no sharpening. The second pattern sheet metal scabbard, with-out a ball tip, is in excellent, and retains about 80% of its original bluing. Some minor dents to the upper portion of one side of the scabbard. Nice clean example.
