J002159 (IJA) INFANTRY "TYPE 30" BAYONET. Toyoda Automatic Loom Work 108th Series bayonet, with a blued, flat sided, contoured bird's head pommel and button release. Serial numbers (67952). The straight, natural wooden grips are fixed with two rivets. The late war, blued, straight, contoured double cross guard has a flat tip to one end and a circular muzzle guide to the other. The 15 1/2" un-fullered blade retains about 96% of its original bluing. The wooden scabbard, bound with two windings of string, has a metal throat with a flat strap band, and a metal cap to its tip. Very nice example.
