J001559 (IJA) EM/NCO'S BELT.
BACKGROUND:
Standard uniform equipment belt in use by Japanese forces until the end of the war, upon which would have been slung the two forward and one reverse ammunition pouches and the bayonet frog. Belt production later switched to rubberized canvas during the war years because of leather shortages.PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A 40mm x 103cm" brown leather belt, one end of which is folded and sewn around a single claw brass buckle, and to whose other end are nine size adjustment holes. Unmarked. Moderate chafe wear and some stainage is evident along its length, but it is otherwise intact and still supple. Complete.
