J001064 (IJA) OFFICER'S LEATHER DISPATCH/MAP CASE. Private purchase, medium brown leather army dispatch case, used for maps, compass, pencils and plotting instruments. The case is 28cm in height, 20cm wide, and can expand to approximately 7cm thick if full. The forward fold-over flap has metal clip and locking device. Both original hanging loops with D-rings are present to the reverse. Case comes with a few items still present inside. (1) Black leather wallet with a post marked letter and two photographs. (2) Identification booklet with a photo of his wife included. (3) Pull out pencil holder with the original set of keys and what looks to be a commemorative army cavalry horse shoe with a IJA start affixed to it. (4) Original pair of glasses with case (one lense is broken). Nice set.
