J000176 (IJA) STIRRUP (SHITANAGA ABUMI).
A cast iron and lacquer swan shaped, open sided stirrup. There has been some chipping to the lacquer paint with some verdigris, but overall a very nice example. The stirrup measures approximately 23cm long "foot" and stands 23cm tall. Of Note: This style of stirrup was used until the introduction of European style stirrups.
