To its title page is printed "Feldzugs-Plan und Tagesnotizen über den Weltkrieg 1914 zu Land,- Wasser -u. Luft zwischen den Ländern Deutchland, Osterreich-Ungarn Einwohner 123,000000 gegen Frankreich, Belgien, England, Russland, Japan, Serbien u. Montenegro Einwohner 237,000000" (Campaign-Maps and Daily-notes about the World-war 1914 Land,- Water -and [in the] Air between the countries [of] Germany, Austria-Hungary Inhabited-by 123,000,000 against France, Belgium, England, Russia, Japan, Serbia and Montenegro Inhabited-by 237,000,000). To the second page is a listing of the dates when the different powers declared war on one another, neutral countries, and a breakdown of the soldiers fielded by each country. The third and fourth pages explain military terminology and indicate which corps were raised from what principalities in the German Army. The fifth and sixth pages outline events in the month prior to the outbreak of the war, and the seventh and eighth pages are advertisements from the publisher. The following three pages are double, fold-out spreads with day-by-day notes on the first three months of the war to one side of the pages, and color maps of the fronts to their other sides. The next double-spread has notes for November of 1914 to one side, and for December of that year to the other. The remainder of the book features mostly double-page fold-outs describing the events of every day of every month of the war, with each of these followed by fold-out, color maps, most of which are double-sided, and almost all of which are incredibly detailed. The western, eastern, Balkan, Italian and mid-eastern fronts are all covered. Also included is a chart comparing the German and the English high seas fleets, and, to the end of the book, a 1919 election map of Germany, surrounded by photo portraits of then-elected members of the Reichstag. All of the pages are typically, lightly age yellowed, with some having moderate edge wear to them, and the covers are more noticeably worn, with a part of the spine missing to its top, and a tape repair to its base.
