G10853 MG 08/15 BELT FEED. (Zuführer) A belt feed for an MG 08/15, whose assembly is approximately 3 1/4" in overall depth, with the main portion being 4" wide and 2 1/8" tall. Stamped to the top of its housing is "9626" and an inspection stamp in the form of a crowned, Gothic letter "G." Beyond this is the movable arm of the belt-feed crank, upon which is stamped "626" and the same inspection mark. These same numbers, with an inspection mark in the form of a crowned "B," are stamped to the top of the plate which the arm moves. To the left of the channel for this plate is stamped "F.W.A.-G." A cross-hatched toggle, which still functions, is immediately before the open feed. "626," and what must be an obscured inspection mark, may be seen stamped to the drum to the center of the belt-feed guide shaft within. The belt-feed follower spring and lever may be seen above the guide shaft, and is attached to the roof of the plate moved by the crank. Most of the assembly has a patina of light surface spotting to it, although the components which would not have been exposed when it was installed in the machine gun retain most of their bluing. Several spots of heavy surface spotting are also evident, although none of the moving parts have been adversely affected.
