G10753 MG 08 SIGHT MOUNT BRACKET. (Richtaufsatzträger) A blued metal mounting bracket for a sight, whose horizontal "bracket" portion is 5" long, and the entire assembly stands 2 13/16" tall. Three perforations are along the arm of the bracket, undoubtedly for screws to pass through, and a fourth is to where it descends at its base. Above the latter perforation are two inspection marks, each in the form of a crowned, Gothic letter "S," and "7569" is stamped beneath them. To the reverse of this arm are short posts, between each of the perforations, and two similar-sized depressions are above the post above the lowermost perforation. The bracket arched upwards and to the left, where it is then comprised of a 2 1/2" long channel, 5/8" wide at its top and 13/16" at its base, whose outermost raised lip has a movable section to it which can be locked by a turning post underneath it. A screw is to the forward edge of the channel, with what appears to be "69" and an indeterminate inspection stamp to it. "69" is also stamped to the base of the turning post, which has a movable arm which passes through it. Light edge wear is evident, and the bracket has an overall patina of light to moderate surface spotting to it, which obscures much of its bluing.
