PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: This is a black and white bi-fold card, that is 4 ½" high by 2 3/4" wide. The front of the card states that he died at the age of 22, for the fatherland. It indicates that this member of a Reserve Infantry "Alpenkorps" held the War Service Cross with Swords. While the central pages have a print of Jesus dying at the cross, and also of the angel coming for the deceased soldier. On the very back, there is portrait of the soldier with a "Porkpie" field cap. It is in very good condition with minor edge wear, and yellowing, caused by age.
