G04550 IMPERIAL FELDWEBEL'S PHOTO POSTCARD.
(Postkarte) A 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" black-and-white photo postcard of a mustached man posing in his uniform and visor cap. A second class Iron Cross ribbon is through a buttonhole of his tunic, and three chevrons are visible to his upper left sleeve. A circular inkstamp for "Baden-Baden," dated for what appears to be December of 1916, is to the reverse. Also to the reverse is a handwritten note, an address for the recipient, and one for the sender indicating that he was a "Feldwebel" staying at a hotel. If the sender is the same man portrayed in the photograph, he must have received several promotions. Age toning and surface scratches are to the obverse, and there are remnants of black paper to the reverse where it had evidently been glued into an album.GRADE *** PRICE $15.00
