G03953 GENERAL OFFICER'S FRAMED PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPH.
(Photographie) A 6 1/2" x 8 3/8", black and white portrait photograph of a seated, high-ranking officer, under glass in its original, 10 1/8" x 12 1/4" gilt-colored, stepped wooden frame. The officer wears a light-colored, pocket-less tunic with a high collar, whose only buttons are visible to the cuffs. His matching trousers have double stripes along their outside seams, which is typically found on General staff-level uniforms. The shoulder boards on his tunic would also appear to be for a General staff-level rank. An ornate dress aiguillette passes over his right shoulder and is gathered under the top of the front closure of his tunic. What may be a "Pour le Mérite" is worn around his throat. Among the twelve ribbons on the ribbon bar to his left breast is what appears to be one for the second class Iron Cross. An Iron Cross, first class, is pinned to his lower left breast, to the left of which is a larger, unidentified award. The photograph is lightly age toned, and the glass and frame are equally lightly age soiled. To the lower left of the reverse of the frame, which is otherwise covered in light brown paper, is glued a 1 7/8" x 1 11/16" white paper tag, upon which is printed "Galeri Remzi," "Yagli Boya Tablolar, Klasik-Modern ve Kadifeli Cerceveler," and "Taksim. Siraselviler Cad. 109," with the image of a telephone followed by "44 78 21." One minor tear is to the paper at the top of the reverse of the frame.GRADE **** PRICE $265.00
