G02953 PHOTOGRAPH POSTCARD. (Postkarte) A 5 3/8" x 3 7/16" printed postcard, whose obverse features a black and white portrait photograph of eight Dragoons, all presenting arms, arranged in a row before a guardhouse ("Wache" (Watch or Guard) is clearly visible over one of the doors). They each wear what appears to be Prussian helmet plates on their square-visored Pickelhaubes, which also sport plumes from their spikes. The figure to the far left wears a greatcoat, whereas the remainder wear their high-collared tunics. The man next to the aforementioned has the distinguishing chevron and tress of an NCO, and presents a sword. All have white belts and cross straps, and high, blackened leather boots. To the reverse is a handwritten note and address, in Sütterlin script, and a postage stamp, over which has been ink stamped a 1911 date. Light to moderate age soiling, and some edge wear, may be seen.
