G012560 M1903 BINOCULARS. (M1903 Doppelfernrohr)

BACKGROUND: Originally introduced in 1903 and used extensively until the end of the war in 1918. All Infantry commanders where equipped with a pair of binoculars.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Brass body binoculars, standing approximately 10.5cm tall, with its original neck strap. The binoculars have a black finish, with black leatherette covering the sides of the main body of both lenses. Eye sockets are of black bakelite. A cross-hatched focusing band, and numbers from + to - 5 beneath it (with increments continuing to the "10" position), are to each eyepiece. The optics are nice and clear. The focus adjustments work perfectly, as does the adjustable disk to the base of the column that connects the bridges, tightening them into position. Maker marked "Emil Busch A.G.", "Rathenow" to the left side. Right side is marked "K B Dienst", "D.F. 03 n.A." with the serial number. Neck strap is complete, has a sewn repair to one section.
