BACKGROUND: A common practice in Europe that continues to this day, is the issue of a remembrance card on the death of a family member. These would be distributed to friends and family as a memorial item
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: This black and white double sided card with a black and white portrait photograph of "Jüngling Johann Brükl" whose date of death was "2 November 1916" at the age of 23. Below that inscription there is a prayer. The reverse shows a black and white illustration. The card is in good condition with age yellowing and edge wear. A section of the printed surface to the reverse has been lifted away; possibly from glue or tape. Jäger (mountain troop)
