G009656 GERMAN "37MM" TRENCH ART SHELL. Captured German Navy 37mm round, turned into trench art. Total height is approximately 17cm. Various German ordnance markings. Bottom of casing is well marked "37-85," "PDPs 162.2.16" and the image of a flaming bomb. Various French and German coins have been attached to the casing and also the words "Argonne Forest 1918" have been etched on, most probably done by a US WW1 soldier.
