G009059 REICHSMARINE VISOR CAP. (Schirmmütze) Nice quality, private purchase, blue/black topped body with woven blue/black centerband. The front center of the centerband has a very nice hand embroidered kokarde and metal Reichmarine eagle device in gilt and black enamel work. The insignia is mounted on a dark blue badge cloth/wool. Insignia shows normal age tarnish and is correctly hand stitched to the centerband. The cap has a black patent leather chinstrap with two sliding, leather length adjustment loops. The chinstrap is secured to the cap by two, small, fire gilted, navy brass buttons. The buttons have an embossed fouled anchor and a simulated twisted rope outer edge. The cap has an extended (cloth covered) forward visor. The interior of the cap is fully lined in grey rayon and still has the original owners name tag sewn in place. The interior of the cap also has a 40mm wide, grey leather sweatband fully intact with a separate sizing piece sewn in. The cap is in overall very good condition. Roughly size 58. Very scarce visor.
