G008059 AUSTRIAN M17 COMBAT HELMET. (Stahlhelm M17) Very nice Czech re-issued (circa 1920's). The stamped, sheet steel construction, helmet retains about 97% of its original brown paint. The helmet has both the dome headed chinstrap retaining rivets, both of the extended ventilation side lugs and the three domed headed liner retaining rivets are all intact. The interior of the helmet has a post-May 1917 pattern, three pad leather liner with a metal retaining band. The three leather liner pads are present. Liner pads each have two fingers, each with a hole for the adjustment string. Padding bags are all complete and still stuffed with their original straw.  The main difference is the rivets which are the same rouned type used on the Czech wz30 and wz32 helmets and also the chinstrap. Large size, probably a 60 or 62. Very nice condition, superb helmet!
