New info added Oct 1st 2012

Hi,

I was looking into your latest additions and noticed an error.

The medal here: http://www.germanmilitaria.com/Imperial/photos/G007564.html

It is in fact a Bavarian War Merit Cross 3rd class with swords. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_Merit_Cross_(Bavaria)

The year 1866 was the year in which the award was established.

The 1866 war medal looked like this: http://www.omsa.org/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=305

The ribbon in the case cover is in the correct colours but made for the miniature version. The market price for a cased award such as this is between $90 and $110 depending on the condition of the medal and case. I think yours is priced right considering the lack of a proper period ribbon for the cross.

Cheers!

Frank

Thank you Frank! Peter
