G005259 PICKELHAUBE CHINSTRAP. (Kinnriemen) A 5/8" wide, M1891 pattern, natural brown leather chin strap, each of whose ends are wrapped and riveted around a rectangular, sliding metal buckle, which the chin strap loops and passes through. Unto each of the formed loops, at either end, pass the bases of metal ring attachments for the M91 chin strap lugs found on the side posts of Pickelhaubes. Fittings are in brass which would make it for and M1895 helmet. The leather, although still supple, exhibits cracking and chafe wear. Nice untouched example.
