G003456 WWI COMMEMORATIVE SWEETHEART BRACELET. (Armband) A segmented, spring-loaded, nickel-silver bracelet, two of whose ends hook to rings on each side of the cylindrical backing to a 1/2" square, alloy representation of a 1914 Iron Cross. The cross has a crown to its upper arm, "W" to its center, and "1914" to its lower arm, all highlighted against their black enamel background. The nine segments of the bracelet are each 5/8" long, with each of these comprised of an upper and lower bar sandwiching an equally long and slightly off-set segment which moves against a spring when pulled. A small ring connects the last of the four segments to the right of the Iron Cross, and the five to the left. An expected age patina may be seen, but the bracelet is otherwise in excellent condition.
