G003256 M1915 CANTEEN. (Feldflasche) An .8 liter, tin-plated sheet metal canteen, as introduced in 1915, with a tall neck for an, absent, metal-capped cork stopper. Its exterior is painted field-grey, most of which remains, with the expected surface scratches, abrasions, and several very light indentations. The oval-shaped canteen has a concave back, and an indentation to its base to accommodate the stud to the bottom of its, absent, covering. Along the seam line to its upper, left facing side is a cartouche with the manufacturer’s name, "J. Brumberg," and a "1915" date, embossed to it. Moderate to heavy surface spotting may be seen to its interior.
