G003062 FRANCO-PRUSSIAN NON COMBATANT WAR MEDAL.
This die struck steel medal is suspended from a white, black and red repeating striped ribbon that features the crowned monogram of King Wilhelm with the inscription "God was with us to Him the Glory" to the outside while below the monogram is "For war duty." The reverse shows an Iron Cross with rays between the arms and "1870-1871" central to a laurel wreath. The medal measures 3cm in diameter with blackening due to age that brings out the various details on the surfaces.
