G002060 HAMBURG CROSS STICK PIN AWARD. (Aufschlag Nadel) A miniature, two-piece alloy and enamel construction lapel pin in the form of the Hamburg Cross. Issued to veterans of Hamburg after the war, the base takes the form of an eight-pointed, multi-rayed star, 20mm tall and 17mm wide, whose vertical oval center features the low-relief profile of the head and shoulders of a helmeted soldier (in contrast to the full-size version which has the full figure of the soldier). Surrounding the oval center is a gold-washed border much like a string of pearls, and two gold-washed swords crossing underneath the oval and between the arms of the gold-bordered, white enamel cross patté which projects from the center. To its reverse is a 55mm vertical rifled pin, a central rivet, and "Ges.Gesch." (signifying patent pending) embossed within a rectangular depression. Nice untouched example.
