G001257 OFFICER'S M1915 TROUSERS. (Tuchhosen) Medium grey wool, privately tailored officers’ trousers, similar to the pattern worn by EM/NCOs, but with the addition of a back pocket. Its four horn button front fly has an additional zinc dish button at the waist with an unconcealed buttonhole. The two diagonally-angled slash hip pockets each have a buttonhole with a corresponding horn button to the pocket interiors. There is a horizontal slash pocket to the right rear with a similar button closure and a tan-colored button. A small, horizontal slash watch pocket is beneath the front right of the waistband. Six blackened metal buttons are along the waistband for suspenders, all but one having "Delta" stamped to them. The dissimilar button has "Zeus" and "Elegant" stamped to it. A short "V" slash is to the waistband’s reverse center. Beneath this slash is a horizontal adjustment strap to the right and, to the left, another strap whose free end is wrapped and sewn around a heavily surface spotted, dual-pronged metal gripper buckle. Both straps are constructed of the same material as the trousers themselves. Along the outside seam of each leg, from the bases of the hip pockets to the cuff, is red wool piping. Sewn to both the inner and outer seam lines of both cuffs are tapering, 3 1/2" long, brown leather straps, each with stud holes to their free ends. Double-headed metal studs are fed through the stud hole of one of each pair of these straps. The interior waistband is lined in diagonally striped cotton, with a striped cotton loop to the base of the "V" slash, and the pocket bags and crotch are of white cotton. The watch pocket bag is of the same wool material as the trousers. Typical nap wear and light soiling is evident throughout, and there are moth nips to either side of the fly, the seat, and below the knee to both legs, to the point of becoming noticeable holes to the right cuff. Approximately a size 31 1/2" waist.
