BACKGROUND: The Jäger zu Pferd (light cavalry) developed very similar uniforms to the Cuirassier (heavy cavalry) unit. The helmet itself differed in the fact that it had a cloverleaf spike base, single piece neck guard which was point at the back and a Dragoon style eagle (wappen). In total, there were 13 Regiments.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A M1905 example of an enlisted Jäger zu Pferd helmet. Steel body is complete, shows typical light spotting and some pitting. German silver trim is complete and in good condition. M1891 side post are complete as are the original korarden. Comes complete with its original convex brass M91 chinscales. Chinscales are in nice condition complete with its original leather backstrap and brass adjustment buckle. Very nice example of a Dragoon eagle (wappen). Both of the wire attachment loops are present and untouched. Clover leaf base with fixed spike. Helmet is maker marked "C.E. Juncker" and dated for 1914. The original leather liner is present and is in decent condition. Size stamped 57 on the rear trim. Nice example.
