G000158 M1903 BINOCULAR CASE. (Behälter) Nice example if a binocular case for the M1903 Doppelfernrohr. The 6 1/2" x 4 3/4" x 2 1/2", slightly curved, brown leather case features a top fold-over flap fixed to the front by a rivetted leather hinge, such that it opens outwards when the case is attached to a belt. This flap is secured by rivetted straps on either side of the case mating with brass studs on either side of the flap itself. The two vertical belt loops to its reverse are each rivetted to their upper end, pass through rivetted horizontal straps near the base and finally mate with brass studs to the case bottom. An alloy rectangular "D" ring is rivetted to the top reverse center. Stamped to the leather behind this ring is a hard to read makers logo. The interior of the case is lined on both of its sides and bottom with a white felt material and has a paper label entitled "Gebrauchsanweisung für das Fernrohr 03" (Instructions for the Telescope 03) glued to the interior of its top fold-over flap. Very nice untouched original case.
