H068264 7.92MM CALIBER AMMO CASE. (Patronenkasten) Roughly 50cm x 36cm x 18cm, air tight wooden ammo case. Top lid with two inset metal hinges to reverse and two inset locking pressure clips to obverse. Inset metal swivel carrying handles to either end. Script to top, "A Luftdichter Patronenkasten". Interior case is lined in an alloy sheet metal. Paper label to inside top lid stating contents as 1500 rounds of 7.92 S.m.K. (Of Note: The S.m.K. rounds were developed for use against air and armored targets and had a hardened steel core). Original U.S. Vets mail home address to the top of the case.
