H032462 PACKAGED CIGARETTE PAPERS. (Zigarette-hullen)

BACKGROUND: Although Hitler himself despised smoking the use of tobacco products was firmly entrenched in Germany, as elsewhere, when he came into power. As with most other nations the German government levied a tax on all tobacco and tobacco accessory products sold as a source of revenue. Although "tailor-made" cigarettes were readily available, hand rolled cigarettes were still the most common form of cigarettes.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Roughly, 6.5cm x 4cm light weight card stock construction package of fifty cigarette papers with green printed and natural tan background fields with green and natural tan printed script. The package has a printed image featuring camels in the foreground and pyramids in the background with script that includes the trade name, "Efka", and "Allerfeinstes Zigaretten Papier", (Very Finest Cigarette Papers). The package has a fold back front cover which reveals the internal cigarette papers. The package is in overall very good condition with minimal age yellowing and it appears to be unopened.
