BACKGROUND: A common practice in Europe that continues to this day, is the issue of a remembrance card on the death of a family member. These would be distributed to friends and family as a memorial item.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Roughly, 4 1/8" x 2 1/4", light weight, card stock remembrance card with printed script and a black and white photograph of a young, "Kanonier", wearing a field-grey M35 dress tunic. The visible uniform details include the shoulder straps, collar tabs and a breast eagle. The script indicates the individual served in, "Art.-Rgt. 7", and died on , "27. Dezember 1938". The card is in overall good condition with minor age yellowing.
