BACKGROUND: Although Hitler himself despised smoking the use of tobacco products including chewing tobacco and snuff was firmly entrenched in Germany, as elsewhere, when he came into power. As with most other nations the German government levied a tax on all tobacco products sold as a source of revenue.  

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Roughly 12cm x 7cm x 2.5cm, package of tobacco with a yellow paper wrapping with red printed script. The script consists of the manufacturers name of "Arnold Boninger Duisburg" and "Rhein-Kong". The tax seal also has printed script which includes the weight, "50g"and the price, "RM-.12". The package still contains the original 50g grams of tobacco and is in overall very good condition. Neat personal item.
