R00348 "ROMMEL" BOOK.
A 5 3/4" x 8 1/2", hardcover, 288 page book with eight pages of black-and-white photographs. This engagingly-written book traces Rommel’s military career from his experiences as a junior infantry officer during the first world war, as a military instructor in the inter-war period, and through his successes and failures as a general staff officer in the second world war, until his forced suicide after being implicated in the plot to kill Hitler. Two tactical maps, and a map of the northern coast of France to the inside of the front cover, as well as a map of North Africa to the inside of the back cover, complement the text. Further, two appendices, the first his record of service as extracted from his Wehrpaß, the second very interesting extracts from his own writings on desert warfare, allied air supremacy, 1942 battles, and more are included. By (Brigadier) Desmond Young, published by Collins Clear-Type Press, 1950. Complete with its original color dust jacket, which is lightly worn to its edges, otherwise undamaged.GRADE ***1/2 PRICE $20.00
